What to know about reinstating your driver’s License

Driving with a suspended or disqualified License is against the law which may lead to further driving suspensions, vehicle confiscation, and monetary penalties. When your License has been suspended, you’ll receive a Notice of Suspension, which will include the following details:

  • Eligible reinstatement date to get your driver’s License back
  • Required reinstatement conditions

You are not legally allowed to start driving again until you have met all reinstatement conditions. If you have lost or did not receive your Notice of Suspension, we can provide you with a Suspension Verification Form in our registry office.

This form includes details of your driver’s License suspension, including your eligible reinstatement date and any reinstatement conditions.

An Application for a Suspended License Hearing is a legal process in Alberta that allows individuals with a suspended or disqualified driver’s License to request a hearing to review their case. This gives them an opportunity to present their side of the story and potentially have their driving privileges reinstated.

You can apply for a Suspended License Hearing once you receive notification of your License suspension or disqualification. It’s important to act promptly and submit your application within the specified timeframe to ensure your request is considered.

To apply, you typically need to complete an application form provided by the relevant licensing authority. You may also need to provide supporting documents and any relevant evidence that supports your case. Consulting with a legal professional or using our specialized service can help ensure your application is properly prepared.

The specific documents required may vary based on your situation, but commonly needed documents include a completed application form, a copy of your suspension notice, any evidence that supports your case (e.g., character references, proof of completing required courses), and any other relevant information.
